What is dbx by Databricks Labs?

dbx by Databricks Labs is an open source tool that was originally designed to extend the legacy Databricks command-line interface (Databricks CLI) and to provide functionality for rapid development lifecycles and continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment (CI/CD) on the Databricks platform.

dbx by Databricks Labs is deprecated. Legacy Databricks CLI version 0.17 that is included with dbx is also deprecated.

The legacy Databricks CLI is not available on Databricks for Google Cloud.

Databricks recommends that you use Databricks Asset Bundles instead of dbx. Databricks Asset Bundles rely on Databricks CLI versions 0.205 and above. To migrate your existing dbx projects to Databricks Asset Bundles, see Migrate from dbx to bundles.
